This is a problem because he's a ferry pilot for one of the two seat gliders. That means I need a very-qualified pilot to ferry the other glider over from FRR to W99 and I need a ferry pilot from W99 back to FRR. (Chris Carswell? Chris Zaboji?)

I don't think we have a trailer suitable for transporting the Gator and all the crap that we usually bring to W99. I suppose we could rent a nice UHaul trailer, or maybe Shane could score one. I'll try to remember to measure the Gator when I'm at KFRR this Saturday so we know how much room we need. The enclosed trailer was nice, because there was less stuff that we had to worry about strapping down. Could also put out a call to the membership list to see if anyone has a big enough trailer.

If we can't find a UHaul trailer big enough for the Gator, maybe we don't need the Gator after all. We've always had a Gator for towing gliders around, and sometimes a glider lands short on the grass runway, and there's not enough manpower to push that glider back to the starting point. Gator is also useful for if we have to operate off of 13, for bringing everything down there

At present, it doesn't seem like we have enough interest for the Discii to go to W99. Rob Jacobsen? Is this true?

We've never aerotowed the PW-5 over, but I don't see why not. Seems easier than tearing it down and putting it into a trailer, especially since I'm short a few trailer hitches for this WoT. Counterpoint is that you need another very-qualified ferry pilot, and you add an additional person to the cannibal/missionary problem

If your vehicle has a trailer hitch and you didn't indicate it on the WoT Application, please let me know right away!

If you don't have a trailer hitch, but you do have a roomy SUV and you don't mind driving the ferry pilots, I could really use you as the ferry-pilot-migrator. Please volunteer! This means you drive to W99 on Sunday evening, wait for us to ferry over, the ferry pilots get into your SUV, and you drive back to FRR. Then you have to drive back to W99 again. I still think you guys should take all your stuff and your cars over to W99 Sunday morning, set up your tents, then get ferried/driven back to KFRR, and do the ferry flight Sunday afternoon, so that you're not having to set up tents at midnight. Same number of trips, different order and timing.

--

http://www.pietbarber.com/

http://blog.pietbarber.com/
